Chief Executive Officer
Igor Gonta is the CEO of Market Prophit and brings a wealth of experience both in the financial markets as well as on the big data front. Igor Gonta spent 13 years on Wall Street in commodities sales and trading, having worked at Goldman Sachs, Barclays, Credit Suisse, and Constellation Energy. Igor has broad experience and a deep understanding of markets, trading, quantitative analysis, and derivatives pricing. Prior to Wall Street, Igor built large relational databases of banks’ accounts payable systems while at Mitchell Madison Group, a strategy management consulting firm. These databases were data mined for information to help categorize and map indirect expenses and identify costs saving opportunities. Igor also did database development for PlanetAll, a social networking, calendaring, and address book website launched in 1996 that was later acquired by Amazon. Igor holds an S.B. and an M.S. in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Chief Technology Officer
Brandon Hood spent 10 years on Wall Street in equities and fixed income trading. Brandon was an assistant trader and programmer on the Matched Book Arbitrage proprietary trading desk at Deutsche Bank. Prior to that, Brandon worked in the Markets Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York assisting in the analysis and implementation of monetary policy. While there, he spent time in the Portfolio Management and Design, Foreign Exchange, and Data Management groups. Brandon has developed applications for the Government Securities trading desk and Discount Window that were used for monetary policy operations. Brandon has also developed a number of proprietary trading, market data, price data and internet data parsing systems and is experienced with analyzing and managing large datasets. Brandon holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Data Scientist - Consultant
Kyle Gorman has over 10 years of experience in natural language processing, statistical analysis, and data visualization. Kyle currently works at the Center for Spoken Language Understanding as a senior research associate, where he develops natural language processing tools for the diagnosis of autistic spectrum and other developmental disorders. Previously, Kyle worked as a scientist and developer on NSF-funded speech recognition research at the University of Illinois. Prior to that, Kyle worked as a scientist and developer on DARPA-funded machine translation research at the University of Southern California. Kyle holds a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelors degree in linguistics from the University of Illinois.
Dan Fossner was named Chief Financial Officer of IAC Search & Applications in 2012. In this capacity he oversees all financial matters for IAC’s Search segment, including Ask.com, About.com, Mindspark Interactive Network and Dictionary.com, and serves as advisor on strategic and management issues for the company. Mr. Fossner also continues to serve as CFO of Mindspark, a position he has held since 2010. Prior to his appointment as CFO, Dan was SVP of Finance & Analytics and VP of Planning & Analytics—positions he held since 2006. Before that, he was Vice President of Corporate and Business Development for IAC Search & Media, which included Mindspark’s predecessor entity as well as Ask.com (formerly Ask Jeeves). During that time, he was integral in the sale of Interactive Search Holdings to Ask Jeeves and eventually Ask Jeeves’ sale to IAC. Dan also served as Vice President and General Manager of Search & Syndication at Interactive Search Holdings and its predecessor companies, The Excite Network and IWON.com. Since 1999, Dan has played a vital role in the growth and development of Mindspark, its managed companies, and the company’s successful spin-offs including Vimeo and Evite. He began his career as a management consultant with the firm Mitchell Madison Group, a spin-out of McKinsey & Company, working initially with financial services clients and ultimately with existing and startup companies on Internet business plans. Dan graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a SB in Economics.
Jorey Ramer is a Founder & Senior Vice President Emerging Business at Jumptap. Prior to Jumptap, Jorey co-founded two business units and a spin-off company (the latter sold to Fortune 500 company Marsh & McLennan) at Trilogy in Austin. Prior to Trilogy, Jorey started/rebuilt new verticals and geographic regions for enterprise software companies Isovia (now part of Motorola) and TIBCO. Jorey is the first named inventor on over 40 issued patents. Jorey holds an S.B. in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Jeff Reback is a portfolio manager at Sumit Capital, a statistical equity arbitrage hedge fund. Prior to Sumit, Jeff was a founder and portfolio manager at Alva Capital Management. Prior to Alva, Jeff was a Director of trading in the Global Statistical Equity Arbitrage group at Deutsche Bank. Jeff holds an S.B. in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
